We are all starting NEW things around our house this month and this being the 1st of the month I thought I’d write about it and ask you (whoever reads this blog, if anyone;) )to keep us accountable!
Justin is doing a self-proclaimed 30 days of discipline and working out, eating right and just overall being more disciplined. He started today and I pray that he keeps it up and does GREAT!!
Addyson has been having lots of digestive problems once again and this time instead of giving more and more meds I’ve decided we’re going to tackle it with her diet. You see she’s going to be 4 on the 19th of this month and weighs 26.8 pounds (on a good day). Her diet consists of chips & dip, grilled cheese sandwiches, yogurt, mac-n-cheese, chicken nuggets (only from McDonalds or Chik-fil-a), cheese pizza, salad (lettuce, croutons & tomatoes), tacos (some of the times), milk, and apple juice. We have been giving her (doctor’s orders) an adult dosage of Miralax everyday for over 2 years now and it never really seems to make that much of a difference:(. She has taught herself how to hold it in (gas included) until it is too painful to hold it anymore. She will sometimes hold it in so much that she begins to run a low-grade fever due to her straining to hold it in. She does show us outward signs that she needs to go but then refuses (cries and screams the entire time we make her sit on the potty) to go. There are times that she holds it so much that she starts bleeding AND she has 2 hemorrhoids…what 4 year-old has those! So, we started today REALLY limiting what she eats…not limiting so much but introducing new foods or natural foods; veggies, fruits, yogurts, etc. I’m not really sure what we were thinking starting this the day after Halloween but so far so good (7 hours in)! She’s never willingly eaten a grilled chicken breast and today for lunch she ate 5 bites!! Anyway we’ll see how it goes, please join us in praying that we can stay strong with her as her parents to help her heal! Also as many of you may have already guessed but we’re all going to be eating these new all natural foods starting today so please pray. I haven’t had a Dr.Pepper today and my head is beginning to pound 😦
On top of those 2 things I’ve finally registered for and committed to DO A MARATHON! Many of you who know me know that this has been a dream of mine for a very long time so I am so pumped about it! I don’t care how long it takes me, I have no goal in mind except to FINISH! I’ll be running a few races over the next month to prepare:) So if you’re in the Lubbock area and want to come support me here they are:
I’m running the half-marathon at Buffalo Springs Lake on November 13th @ 9:00 am. You have to pay the gate fee to get into the race course, it is $5.
I’m running the Turkey Trot in Mackenzie Park on Thanksgiving Day @ 9:00 am. There are a few of my friends running this one to so it should be lots of fun!
My marathon….MetroPCS Dallas White Rock, Sunday, December 5th @ 8:00 am in Fair Park, Dallas, TX.
Ok so that pretty much sums up our NEW November stuff. I hope to keep you updated often (I’m not even going to try and say daily because I know I will fail!).
