Museum trip

So we finally invested in a membership to the Fort Worth Museum of Natural History and Science that houses the Children’s museum here in Fort Worth. It was a rainy day so we took advantage of it. Here are some pictures from our visit.

Go HOGS Go!!

Brad's helmet

The jersey!

So I’ve been raised to cheer for the Arkansas Razorbacks and during College Football season I DO!! I now have a new reason to cheer for them and that is to cheer for my cousin Brad Shearin. He’s walking onto the Football team this year and I am SO proud of him. He could’ve gone to a small school and been guaranteed to play on day one but he decided to take the more difficult route that in the end will be more fulfilling I’m sure. I’m so proud of him and I can’t wait to see him on the sidelines and in the game SOON! I know this verse means a lot to Brad and I’m looking forward to seeing all that God has planned for him!

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

New guys hanging around for the Media Shots...#21 in the middle is Brad!

Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand

So a few ladies I know at church have a Book Club that meets every month and this is the book they choose for the month of June. I wasn’t able to go to the meeting/get-together and didn’t have time to read it before their deadline (because it was on back-hold at the library) but I am reading it now and all I can say is, WOW!! I’ll update more when I finish but if you haven’t read this book, GET IT and READ IT!

My little dancer…

So Addyson wants to be a ballerina SO bad…Wednesday she got dressed in a leotard and a puffy dance skirt around 8 am and was in it ALL day. Almost every move that was made was danced…we’re still looking for a great dance studio here so please join me in praying that when we bite the bullet and sign her up that the dancing doesn’t turn out like the soccer did last year;)

Smiley gal - notice the bang cowlick 😉

Touching her toes

"Look at this mommy!"

Relaxing with KiKi (the dog) -yes her feet are THAT flexible!!

Brave boy swimming

So I’ve written about Owen’s NO-FEAR policy at the pool and I was finally able to capture it last week. He was almost all dried off and decided to jump back in for fun since Addyson was still in the pool.

Someone has a Birthday coming up…

I LOVE Birthdays and now that I’ve gotten over the 30 hump I’ve decided to embrace my Birthday again so I thought I’d share with those of you who care, what I’d like to gain on my Birthday.

1. Running Gear – I feel like I’m always needing new running gear but when you run 20+ miles a week you tend to wear your gear out quickly! Here are some specifics I’ve been looking at:

Arm Sleeves – these are a new Accessory for runners!
Running Skirts – I’d LOVE to have one but they’re the same price as 2+ shorts…so a want not a need!

2. A cover/protector for my Kindle (Justin gave it to me when he got an iPad). I have the 6″ Display 2nd Edition.

3. Amazon $$…I’ve become an addictive reader again and am loving the Fort Worth library but would love to get to reading on my Kindle more :).

4. A house 😉 Just kidding…sortof!

The Pioneer Woman

The Pioneer Woman - Black Heels and Tractor Wheels

Great read!! I highly recommend this book to all who are already fans of her cookbook and to anyone looking for a quick read or a great TRUE (clean) love story. Here’s the synopsis:

“That’s when I saw him—the cowboy—across the smoky room.”

I’ll never forget that night. It was like a romance novel, an old Broadway musical, and a John Wayne western rolled into one. Out for a quick drink with friends, I wasn’t looking to meet anyone, let alone a tall, rugged cowboy who lived on a cattle ranch miles away from my cultured, corporate hometown. But before I knew it, I’d been struck with a lightning bolt . . . and I was completely powerless to stop it.

Read along as I recount the rip-roaring details of my unlikely romance with a chaps-wearing cowboy, from the early days of our courtship (complete with cows, horses, prairie fire, and passion) all the way through the first year of our marriage, which would be filled with more challenge and strife—and manure—than I ever could have expected.

This isn’t just my love story; it’s a universal tale of passion, romance, and all-encompassing love that sweeps us off our feet.

It’s the story of a cowboy.

And Wranglers.

And chaps.

And the girl who fell in love with them.

Shane and Shane

So I’ve been a fan of Shane and Shane for a long time, they are first and foremost Worship Leaders to me. Every “concert” I’ve ever been to has actually been a worship time lead by their amazing God-given gifts! I’ve not seen anything new out from them in awhile…I know they’ve been growing their families 😉 so when they released this video I was not shocked at the content choice of their new Single but I was surprised at how it hit me emotionally.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did:

Funny things from our kiddos

So here are a few HILARIOUS things our kiddos have done recently:

We were getting ready to leave the apartment the other day and Addyson was on her own timeframe…not willingly joining us a the stairs to head out. Justin was standing at the top of the stairs telling her to put her shoes on and come on or we would leave her here all by herself. This was after at least 5 warnings and kind requests to do what he had asked. She looked at him, stood up, put her hands on her hips and said, “That’s fine! I’ll just call the POLICE!”. I had to leave the room I started laughing so hard!

Owen is in the stage were he repeats EVERYTHING like a parrot!! So I was not shocked when we were in Target walking around in the toys area and Addyson yelled out, “Barbies”. That was immediately followed up with a repeat (in perfect English) of “BARBIES!” from Owen. There was a man standing at the endcap of the next eisle with his son who commented, “Man his dad has his work cut out for him!”

A few zoo trips ago I took a picture of a Zebra and it happened to be the best angle I could get at the time which was its rear end. Owen constantly wants to look at the pictures on my phone and always finds that one (yes, he can scan through them all on his own) and says, “Zeeebraaa POOOOOPOOOOO!” Its all well and good except when you’re in public and your almost 2 year-old starts screaming POOOOOOOPOOOOOO at the top of his lungs!!
