All girl birthday party

So a few weeks ago Addyson was invited to a birthday party for a little girl in the other Kindergarten class at school (there are only 2 classes and a total of 6 girls in both classes). We’d never been to a birthday party at Build-A-Bear but Addyson had a blast! She got to pick out her own creature (up to $16 in value) then they all took part in each of the creation steps to create all their creatures. All of the girls were very patient and all did great! I enjoyed getting to talk with all the moms too. Here are some pictures from the party!

Waiting their turn...they all did this really well at the party

So proud of Devin!

So my brother-in-law is the MAN! He won the Northwest Regional competition of the 2012 United States Barista Championship. He won the Brewer’s Cup portion of the competition last year but this year…he won BOTH the Barista AND the Brewer’s Cup. So excited for him!!

My Morning Blessing

So this past Saturday morning I met up with some other ladies to go for a quick 6-mile run. I hadn’t been feeling well so I knew I’d have to take it easy so when I got to mile 2 and was wheezing and coughing I decided to call it quits and turn around to head back to our cars. I was frustrated at first that I wasn’t going to get in my miles for that day but then a few moments later I look up to see a beautiful sunrise before me. This picture does not do it justice. God’s creation is so beautiful!

Fasting Skit

So over the past 3 weeks Justin and I have taken some time off of all electronics to focus on family time and time in prayer together so here’s one of many posts that I drafted while we were on our electronic fast:

This was a hilarious skit I found while we were on our fast…

Inheritance

Inheritance by Christopher Paolini

Okay so I’ve officially FINISHED this series!! I still cannot believe that I’ve read over 2,900 pages through this series in the last 2 months. If you haven’t caught onto this in my last few posts I’m HIGHLY recommending that you (whoever you are) read these books!! I was constantly and surprised at the turns in the story lines and how the characters developed throughout all four books! Thanks again to Nicole for the recommendation!!

Little House in the Big Woods

So I know I already blogged about this Christmas gift but I wanted to officially announce that we have FINISHED the first book in the series! Addyson was so excited each night to read a chapter in this BIG book. We are starting The Little House on the Prairie tonight.

House hunt post number 1002344524375342…HAHA!

So over the past 3 weeks Justin and I have taken some time off of all electronics to focus on family time and time in prayer together so here’s one of many posts that I drafted while we were on our electronic fast:

We had a house hunting weekend last weekend and looked at quite a few homes over the course of 2 days. I can’t really say that it gave us an answer but it did help us mark off some houses that have been on our “Let’s Go see that one” list :).

We’re still praying that God would lead us to the best decision for our family now and in the future. Should be build or should we buy and fix-up or just buy…please join us in continuing to pray for the decision as time closes in on us.

Here are some pics of some of the houses we looked at, some goo and some not so good :).

very neat bathroom set-up but I couldn't get a great angle

Great older house but not quite in our price range with all the updates we would need.

Good kitchen but a bit too small for all my cooking skills 🙂

another house on a hill...this one would need some work on the wall though

picture looks good but this house's layout is crazy wierd.

Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo

So over the past 3 weeks Justin and I have taken some time off of all electronics to focus on family time and time in prayer together so here’s one of many posts that I drafted while we were on our electronic fast:

So the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo has been in town over the last few weeks and we’ve taken full advantage of our FREE admission to the Stock Show portion thanks to our Fort Worth Museum of Science and History membership. We’ve gotten to go twice, once as a family and once with our friends. Both time the kids had a great time! The first time we went was on a Friday morning and it was BUSY. There were TONS of cattle, sheep and Llama’s that were getting ready for showings and competitions so we made our way through 4 FULL buildings of cattle which all smelled of daises and roses, of course. Addyson was done with the smells so when we went back on Tuesday afternoon with some friends she was determined not to go into the cattle buildings. We didn’t really have a problem because they were all empty. We did however go to the petting zoo this time with our friends and the kids got to into a pen with goats, bunnies, llamas, and chickens. Owen had a blast! Addyson was skeptical at first but ended up having a good time too.

Here are some pictures from our two visits to the Stock Show:
