School work

So Addyson is doing great at school and we are encouraged with the following papers that come home at least once a week. I have to keep reminding myself that I too once had to learn from nothing…I am so proud of her!!

Love words

Here’s another funny video to enjoy with the “Love” holiday coming up!

House tent day

So this Tuesday the kids and I stayed in for most of the day as it was a dreary cold winter day. To make it a bit more eventful I built a tent in the middle of the living room and they had a blast.

Here are some pictures to prove it:

Tent time!

Addy posing...

Little model again for the camera

After a morning inside we went to Chik-fil-a for a play date with some friends. The kids played for over an hour before we ate and early dinner. After dinner Owen decided to run OUTSIDE into traffic as I was getting everything cleared and ready to go. He dropped his ice cream on the floor on the way out the door. I was terrified but caught him as he ran into the somewhat empty parking lot saying, “I open door, Mom!” Wow he is QUICK!

Ice skating miracle

So as a kid I was ‘encouraged’ to watch figure skating. I enjoyed it but it was by far one of my moms favorite things to watch, especially on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I remember watching Scott Hamilton skate. I remember hearing that he was sick. I remember hearing that he was healed. I remember hearing that he was sick again…take a few minutes to listen to his testimony. Amazing faith!

More on the coffee champ…

So my brother-in-law Devin won a regional coffee barista and brewing competition a few weeks ago and was then featured in Fresh Cup magazine. click here to read the article.

The Choice

The Choice by Nicholas Sparks

So I finished this book in 3 days…even while reading the last 60 pages or so through tears. I haven’t cried while reading a book in a LONG time. This book just hit a cord with me therefore I recommend it for all moms.

Here’s the Overview:

Travis Parker has everything a man could want: a good job, loyal friends, even a waterfront home in small-town North Carolina. In full pursuit of the good life– boating, swimming, and regular barbecues with his good-natured buddies–he holds the vague conviction that a serious relationship with a woman would only cramp his style. That is, until Gabby Holland moves in next door. Despite his attempts to be neighborly, the appealing redhead seems to have a chip on her shoulder about him . . . and the presence of her longtime boyfriend doesn’t help. Despite himself, Travis can’t stop trying to ingratiate himself with his new neighbor, and his persistent efforts lead them both to the doorstep of a journey that neither could have foreseen. Spanning the eventful years of young love, marriage and family, The Choice ultimately confronts us with the most heart wrenching question of all: how far would you go to keep the hope of love alive?
