Junie B. Jones and the Yucky Blucky Fruitcake by Barbara Park

Overview:
“I’m the bestest winner in the world!” In the 5th Junie B. Jones book, it’s Carnival Night, and Lucille has already won a box of fluffy cupcakes with sprinkles on them. But when Junie B. wins the Cake Walk, she chooses the bestest cake of all—the one wrapped in sparkly aluminum foil. How was she to know it was a lethal weapon?
*********************************************************************
Wow, this one was packed with good lessons:
1. Respect your parents. There were numerous times throughout this story that Junie B. disrespected or disobeyed her parents and man did she learn a lesson.
2. Winning does not always mean you are the winner. Even when Junie B. won the cake walk she was not a winner because she didn’t listen and therefore got a BAD prize.
3. Friendship is more important that winning.
