Garage Sale Prep

Wow!! I’m getting ready for a garage sale this weekend, well I’ve been getting ready for months now but I’m in crunch mode now! This is crazy work! I haven’t been awake this late in a LONG time for work πŸ™‚ Wish us luck!

ELife Children’s Volunteer Plea :)

Now who can pass this up…cutie!!!

We need children’s volunteers πŸ™‚

Pack the Pack

So ELife is doing a new city project this beginning of school year and we’re participating! We picked up a bag with a school supply list in it on Saturday night after the service and the kids and I went today to get everything on the list for the lucky boy or girl (hopefully it’s a girl because we got mostly pink things :)). Addyson had a blast picking out all the supplies, I can’t believe she’ll be in school someday.

Tubes for Owen

So Owen had tubes inserted in his ears this morning (EARLY). So far so good!! It was very difficult to hand him off but the nurses made it easy πŸ™‚ Then after the procedure was over he was inconsolable for a good 20 minutes, that was the most difficult thing about the entire process. He was scared, confused, hungry and drowsy yet I couldn’t feed him, couldn’t make him comfortable or do anything it seemed to help. Finally, after puking all over me in the recovery room he began to calm down. He finally fell asleep on the way home, took an hour nap with dad on the couch and has been as good as new ever since!

Here are some pics of the pre-procedure day swim in the baby pool in the back yard.

Prayer time at ELife

So I was in the building but I was fulfilling my motherly duties by serving in the nursery last night as prayer was going on down in the rink. I’ve read some amazing things about it so I wanted to share them with you.

Atkins family is growing…extended family people ;)

I wanted to officially welcome a new member of the Atkins clan into the world. Laney Atkins was born on August 2nd to Jason and Shannon Atkins weighing in at 7 lbs 12 oz and 20 in long. I can’t wait to meet her!!! We’re praying for you Shannon & crew πŸ™‚ Jason and Nathan are now out-numbered 3 to 2 πŸ™‚

Wow, it’s been awhile…

So life apparently got too busy for me to keep up my blog so I’m going to try again πŸ˜‰

Let’s see…Owen has had a double ear infection along with another round of bronchitis (in MAY) and we’re heading to the doctor AGAIN today because I think the ear infection is back. We finished antibiotics 11 days ago :(.

However he is MOVING like crazy…here he is trying to CLIMB up Addy’s big girl chair (she used to be so little in it).

Addyson is getting bigger and bigger (well intellectually- not physically) πŸ™‚ She is getting taller but at 3 years 6 months she still only weighs 26 pounds (that’s with clothes ON).

The kiddos and I are heading to Memphis, TN for a quick (14+ hour drive) 2 week trip on Saturday (we’ll leave before the sun is even thinking about rising) Β to see Nana & Papa, Grandmother Atkins, Grandmother Owens, LOTS of friends and of course my co-workers! We’re super pumped…Addy’s counting down the days!

A big decision has also occurred in our lives…I’m going to be a stay-at-home Mom starting June 8th. I am SOOOOO excited about this! Not excited about leaving my position at Speak and all the people I work with but VERY excited that I get to play with my kiddos ALL day EVERY day. For me that’s saying A LOT! I NEVER was the girl who dreamed about getting married, starting a family and staying at home all the time. For anyone who knows me I am a go, go , go type of person but for some reason God has clearly given me the desire to make my family a priority over my career at this stage in life and I am A-Okay with that πŸ™‚

I’ve been reading through the book of Matthew over the past week and have been reminded of some very basic concepts that Christ teaches His disciples that I’ve somehow forgotten or honestly never fully understood. One that I spent time reflecting on today is Matthew 17:14-21.

Jesus Heals a Boy with a Demon

“And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him, said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.” And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a Β grain of mustard see, you will say to this mountain, `Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

When we don’t believe (have Faith in our heavenly Father and his power) we won’t be able to do the impossible through Him.
